How we handle your information
This page describes what 7 Centre collects when you use this website, why, how long we keep it, and who else sees it. It covers this site and the assistant on it. It does not cover the Simplii platform, which is governed by your agreement with us. We work from Dubai and Toronto, so it is written to meet the law in both places.
What you give us
Everything we hold about you from this website is something you typed into it.
- Enquiry and download forms: your name, work email, and anything you write in the message.
- Booking a demo: your name, work email, company, an optional phone number, and the time you chose.
- The newsletter: your email address, and your name if you give it.
- The assistant: whatever you type into it, and the answers it gives you.
Form enquiries reach a person at 7 Centre by email and are recorded so we can reply and keep track of the conversation. If you book a demo, we send you a calendar invitation and a confirmation.
What we measure, and what we do not
We count page views to understand which pages are useful. That record holds the page address, the page that linked you to it, a broad country, and whether you were on a phone or a computer. It also holds a one-way hash of a shortened version of your IP address and browser description, mixed with a secret that changes every day. It is not a name, it cannot be turned back into one, and it does not follow you from one day to the next.
There are no advertising cookies on this site, no third-party trackers, and no profiles shared with anybody.
Cookies and what the assistant remembers
- A cookie remembering your answer to the cookie banner, so it stops asking.
- A cookie remembering a display preference, if you set one.
- A note in your own browser giving the assistant a short-lived identity, so a conversation survives moving between pages. It is dropped after half an hour of inactivity and never leaves your browser as anything but a reference.
The assistant
The assistant answers from 7 Centre's own published material and cites what it used. Producing an answer means sending your question, and the passages it is answering from, to the company that provides the language model. Answers can be wrong or incomplete; treat them as a starting point rather than advice.
Transcripts are deleted after thirty days. If a conversation led to an enquiry, it is kept alongside that enquiry as a business record so we know what was already discussed.
The law we work to
Two regimes apply to us at the same time, and this page is written to satisfy both rather than the easier of the two. In the United Arab Emirates, Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data, which covers 7 Centre Middle East FZ-LLC as a company registered in Dubai Internet City. In Canada, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, and the provincial laws that stand in its place, which cover our work from Toronto. Where the two differ, we follow whichever gives you more.
If you write to us from anywhere else, we will still answer the request. We do not ask people to prove where they live before telling them what we hold about them.
Why we are allowed to hold it
We only ever hold what you typed in, and we hold it for the reason you typed it in.
- You asked us something. Answering an enquiry, arranging a demo, or replying to a message is what you came to us for, and the information you gave is what lets us do it.
- You said yes. The newsletter goes only to people who asked for it, every email carries a link to stop, and each one says who sent it. You can withdraw that consent at any time, and withdrawing it costs you nothing else.
- We have to. Some records — an invoice, a signed agreement — are kept because the law says to keep them, for as long as it says.
- We are running the site. Counting page views to see which pages are useful is the only thing we do that you did not ask for by name, and it is done without holding anything that points back to you.
Withdrawing consent, or asking us to stop, does not undo what was already done lawfully — but it stops the thing going forward, and we will tell you plainly if that means we can no longer do something you had asked for.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising. It is handled by the services we use to run this site: our hosting provider, our email provider, the company providing the assistant's language model, and — if you contact us by text or telephone — our telephony provider. If we ever connect a customer-relationship system, enquiries would be copied into it.
Where it goes
We work from Dubai and Toronto, so your information is looked at in the United Arab Emirates and in Canada. The services we use to run this site — hosting, email, the assistant's language model, and telephony if you contact us that way — operate from other countries as well, including the United States.
Both laws allow that and both attach a condition, which is the same condition in different words: information that leaves does not leave its protection behind. We place each provider under a written agreement to hold it only for us, only for what we asked them to do, and to keep it secure — and we remain accountable to you for it wherever it sits.
How long we keep it
- Chat transcripts: thirty days, unless attached to an enquiry.
- Enquiries, bookings and newsletter subscriptions: kept as business records until you ask us to remove them.
- Page-view counts: kept in aggregate, with no identifier that reaches you.
What you can ask us for
Both laws give you the same set of rights, and you do not need a reason to use any of them.
- To be told whether we hold anything about you, and to be given a copy of it.
- To have it corrected if it is wrong, or completed if it is missing something.
- To have it deleted.
- To ask us to stop using it, or to limit what we do with it while a question about it is open.
- To receive what you gave us in a form you can take elsewhere.
- To withdraw consent you had given, including for the newsletter.
- To object to a decision reached about you by automated means, and to ask a person to look at it.
Write to info@7centre.com and we will answer within 30 days. If a request would take longer than that, we will tell you before the 30 days are up, why, and when to expect an answer. We do not charge for any of this.
Keeping it safe
Everything you send this site travels over an encrypted connection. What we hold sits on access-controlled systems, reachable by the people who need it to do their work and not by anyone else. If something goes wrong in a way that puts you at risk, both laws require us to say so — to the regulator, and to you — and we will.
Children
This site is meant for people doing their jobs. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect anything about them. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to info@7centre.com and we will remove it.
If we get it wrong
Tell us first: info@7centre.com reaches the person accountable for privacy at 7 Centre, and we would rather hear it from you than not. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can take it further — in the United Arab Emirates to the UAE Data Office, and in Canada to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to your provincial commissioner where that is the one who handles it. Doing so costs you nothing and you do not need our permission.
